Daniel Taub presented his credentials for the first time when he was meeting with the Queen. He wore a morning tail coat, striped trousers, and mirror-shined black shoes while he bowed his head’ as the new Ambassador of the State of Israel at St James Court.

He also had a newly-cut grey hair-his kippah that represented his badge of office. He portrayed important facts concerning his life while at the ceremony. The fact that he may be one of his country’s leading diplomats was not going to make him change his beliefs and practices as an Orthodox Jew.

The Queen was well aware that Daniel gave up his British citizenship and she asked him how representing a country that he had immigrated over thirty years earlier was going to feel.

He mentioned that it was a privilege to raise his children in their original homeland after they had exiled it for a period of two thousand years. According to Taub, he saw a great opportunity and hope in his country after looking at his family’s history.

Taub is the director of strategy and planning at the Rothschild Foundation in Jerusalem called Yad Hanadiv.Taub’s entire childhood was in the United Kingdom where he was born. He studied at the Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ Secondary School that is located in Elstree, Hertfordshire.

He then furthered his studies at University College, Oxford University, and Harvard University. Daniel moved to Israel in the year 1989 where he served as a combat medic in the IDF. He subsequently served as a reserve officer in Israel’s Defense Force’s international law division.

Daniel Taub worked as a speechwriter for President Chaim Herzog before he joined the Israel Foreign Ministry in the year 1991.Taub has six children together with his wife Zehava who performed a song at a party in honor of Israel’s sixty-fourth birthday.

Taub has served in several diplomatic, legal and political posts in the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

He is ranked as an expert in international law since he has specializations in counter-terrorism and the laws of war. He served as the Principal Deputy Legal Advisor of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Daniel Taub has represented Israel in numerous multilateral fora. Taub’s relationship the British Jewish community goes way back since he grew up in the United Kingdom. He is also a lecturer at the annual Limmud conference.
